Pastor F. Cornelius Rouse
Pastor of Church of Bethesda
Pastor F. Cornelius Rouse gave his life to Christ at the tender age of 8 at Full Gospel AME Zion Church, now known as From the Heart Ministries. His journey in faith began early, as he immediately started serving in various ministries. By the age of 11, he had written his first play, which was performed at several local churches.
Currently, Pastor Rouse is pursuing dual degrees: a Bachelor's in Biblical Studies from Liberty University and a degree in Business Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC). His favorite scripture is Psalms 144:1, reflecting his heart to fight for God's people and his dedication to spiritual growth.
An Army veteran, Pastor Rouse served two tours in Iraq. He believes that the church is the body and the edifice should be used to edify that body. He often emphasizes that the body is the marrow of the church, responsible for creating new blood, as Jesus ordained in Acts 1:8: "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Pastor Rouse is a devoted husband to Ashley and a loving father to Ariel, Akira, CJ, Blair, and Arreaux. His path to the pulpit was long and winding, but he always had the prayers and guidance of his grandfather, Pastor Willie Duvall, supporting him. He served diligently under Pastor Edward Holloway of Way of the Word Ministry, where he was ordained and licensed as a minister of the gospel in 2018.
In February 2024, Pastor Rouse had a profound experience with God while working out, leading to the call to start the Church of Bethesda. The church launched on May 5, 2024, with over 100 people in attendance.
In his spare time, Pastor Rouse enjoys marksmanship, studying the Word of God, helping develop disciples of Christ Jesus, and loves spending time with his family. His life and ministry are a testament to his unwavering faith and dedication to serving God's people.
